Under The Influence

While I'm a child of the 80's I'm also a teen of the 90's. Grunge, the birth of the internet and Bill Clinton's saxophone playing are all amazing events I was around for. I also was there to witness the birth of Image Comics.

At the time there was nothing like it. All the major artists in the industry (yes, they were all  from Marvel, DC didn't have any talent. Don't be silly)  joining forces against the two big evil corporations to form something of their own. The style of comics that came out of this new publisher was loud and over the top, much like the soft drinks of that decade.

I had just begun to get into comics at that time and was greatly influenced by the artistic and  writing styles of Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane and Erik Larsen. Yes.....my writing was fashioned after Todd McFarlane. I made hundreds of my own home made comics some with my friends and some by myself. The results were usually pretty bad which would explain why I'm not working at Image comics today. -Soss
