Black Science #6
The first arc of Rick Remender’s new creator owned project ends with a bang. Doctor Grant McKay and his dysfunctional Fantastic Four-styled group finally make it to the dimension jumping Pillar, but at what cost?
Remender keeps you guessing as he eliminates some core characters in this final act. Artist Matteo Scalera provides his excellent brand of dark, yet cartoonish artwork. This book leaves us on a cliffhanger that readers will have to wait until July to see the resolution. I honestly prefer this trend of a month or two break in between “seasons” of properties like Black Science, Saga and The Wake. It’s more important to me to keep the same creative team together for an entire run than have the book come out on time with substandard art.
The first arc of Black Science is also now available in trade format. If you missed any of the dimension jumping excitement this is an easy way for you to get right into the thick of things. -Soss
