Ninja-ing Ain't Easy

Who didn't want to be a Ninja Turtle in the early 90s? This guy certainly did. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had the distinction of being the last cartoon franchise from which I had and played with the toys. By the time they got around to the third movie I was out, but when that cartoon kicked off, I was all over it.

Since then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has had a couple of other TV series and a CG movie, but none of them have captured what the essence of the franchise as well as Nickelodeon's current series. They managed to take everything that's good about the franchise and make it better. Each turtle has his own distinct animation, not to mention spot-on voice casting. Jason Biggs as Leonardo? I know you don't think so, but it couldn't be more perfect. Sean Astin as Raphael? Better than his Sam Gamgee. April O'Neil has been aged down to the turtles level which makes way more sense and Shredder and the Kraang have been updated to be seriously threatening villains for modern times.

The only negative is the lack of Bebop and Rocksteady. There are plenty other mutated animals and plants, but the two 90s mainstays aren't involved.

Its seriously the Batman: The Animated Series for Turtles fans. So if you get a chance I highly recommend giving it a try.
