The Saviors #1
I was intrigued to see what James Robinson was looking to explore in this creator-owned offering from Image comics. I've read his mainstream work on Starman and from a quick glance at this book you can tell he is going in a totally different direction.
The story revolves around Tomas Ramirez, an easy going friendly stoner living in what appears to be New Mexico or Arizona. We travel along with him for his daily routines and wonder, could his life be any more boring? That is until people start transforming into lizard men.......or is he just too high and paranoid?
Artist J. Bone provides some very nice black and white art. You'll find a lot of energy and fluid motion in his ink work. I know black and white art isn't for everyone but it fits well with this book.
I'm excited to see how the mystery of this story plays out and would recommend this to anyone that wants to experience something new and different from a familiar writer. -Soss
