My DNA Rejects It
If you know me or have read this blog or listened to the podcast, you should know I don't like indie comics. There's something about their elitist, too-cool-for-mainstream-ness that rubs me the wrong way. The art, the writing, the boring regular, every day life-stories... garbage. They're just not for me. Don't worry, the irony that the comic strip above is "indie" is not lost on me.
And this distaste for indie isn't limited to comics. I will take a big, steamy turd on indie movies and music just as much. Mostly music which seems to be the most offensive of the indies. Pretty much the only indie I like is of the Dr. Jones persuasion.
But to be fair, I will try anything once. I'm sure since Image Matt has become such an integral part of the podcast I'll be trying a ton of things I normally wouldn't. He already duped me into reading some indie trash called The Shutterbug Follies, which indeed was folly to read. He's not even that big an indie guy, he just gets into it more than Soss and myself.
The comic above was inspired by myself, Soss and Image Matt agreeing to each draw Li'l Depressed Boy. Eventually our individual creations will be posted here and more than likely on the Facebook for you (the reader) to vote on. That is, once Matt gets over his perfectionist ways and actually finishes a piece of art.
