Its 10am Somewhere
DC Nation has renewed my desire for waking up before noon on a Saturday. That hasn't happened since childhood. I can thank Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice.
I hadn't watched Young Justice until this season. I wish I had. Its a damn good show. Its Justice League/Justice League Unlimited-type good. They've done a great job making it about the young DC heroes everyone cares about, unlike the current Teen Titans book that centers around a bunch of unlikeable characters and a bunch of nobodys. Scott Lobdell, take a lesson from this crew.
And I can't say enough about Green Lantern: The Animated Series. If I wasn't such a believer in everything Geoff Johns has done with the comics, this series would be my definitive version of the GL mythos just like Batman: The Animated Series is my definitive Batman mythology. What's interesting is I've always had a certain voice for Hal Jordan in my head when I read the books. Turns out that voice was Josh Keaton who voices him on the animated series. I had just never heard him before. Casting nailed it.
The DC Shorts are pretty good too. Except the claymation one with the British kids doing the voices. Those are always stupid.
So kudos to everyone involved in anchoring DC Comics in my Saturday mornings and for a whole new generation of kids that will grow up appreciating these characters.
