Only one book this week but from the looks of it I'll be up to my neck in comic's next week.
Avengers Assemble #9
Bruce Banner and Tony Stark's differing scientific points of view are pitted against one another. When there is a discovery that something evil might be going down in a isolated research lab in Serbia the search for a missing scientist turns into a game to these Avengers.
The general plot isn't anything special. If you've seen The Thing then you can guess how this is going to go. While there is nothing new to be found in the plot there is still a lot of good in this book. Kelly Sue DeConnick writes some great dialogue. The opening scene banter is realistic and funny. I loved Tony breaking his train of thought to comment on Carol Danvers nasty kale shake.
My favorite piece of this book is Stefano Caselli's art. I remember his work on Avengers Initiative and it's just as good as I remember. He has got Bryan Hitch realism with a touch of Frank Cho's line work. Stunning stuff.
