05-25-11 Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Princess Diana can't catch a break. In 2005 it was announced that Joss Whedon would write and direct a film adaptation of the Amazon Princess. Fans of Buffy and Serenity went nuts. After two years of outlines and rewrites the talented writer threw in the towel and abandoned the project.

More hope came in 2010 when a TV pilot was produced for NBC. Despite controversy over the choice of costume, the outlook was positive. It appeared as if WW would be rejoining the ranks of live action super heroes after all. Alas, NBC past on the series. Looks like DC's premier female hero will be sitting on the bench for the foreseeable future.

  1. I couldn't understand why NBC didn't go ahead with this series. All the promotional trailers and images I saw looked good so the script must have been the problem. Still, there's a lot of awful stuff out there, i can't believe a Wonder Woman show could have been worst then America's Got Talent.-$

  2. Don't be too sad it didn't make it. All of the reviews said it was more law-drama than actual Wonder Woman show. Though the costume looked good by the 3rd attempt, we may have been spared DC's next Batman & Robin.
