The announcement that Ryan Reynolds was confirmed to star in the Deadpool solo film was surprising only in the way that everyone thought it was a done deal. I really don't see how Fox could have cast anyone else in that role after the test footage was leaked. There would have been hordes of fanboys throwing chimichangas at studio executive's cars for weeks.
What is it with Deadpool and chimichangas? I guess 13 year olds in the 90's thought it sounded funny and it stuck. Hopefully a feature film will help me understand the appeal of this character. -Soss
