In the distant future women are rounded up and blasted into space to serve out their sentences at the Auxiliary Compliancy Outpost or Bitch Planet as it is commonly called. What types of crimes are these women guilty of you may ask. Non-compliance of course! This vague term is used by the Council of Fathers to rid the home planet of essentially any woman they please.
This book was like Caged Heat or Iron Eagle but packed with social commentary. So take all the fun out of those flicks and you have this book.
It is well written and wonderfully illustrated but I don't see how some online critics are calling this "The Best Book of the Year". I get what Kelly Sue DeConnick is trying to say but it comes off as extremely heavy handed to me. I hope this title does well but I don't think I'll be making a return trip to Bitch Planet. -Soss
