GoBots have always been the Transformers lesser cousins. After all, you don't see Michael Bay ruining their franchise do you? No, you don't. But the GoBots had their own cool characters that, when I was child were able to hang side by side with my Transformers during playtime.
Renegades like Cy-Kill and Cop-Tur were badass and Guardians Leader-1 and Turbo were just as heroic as the Autobots. Overall, the toys and cartoon were made with a much smaller budget which resulted in the Transformers taking over. Sure, those aren't the only reasons. The Transformers toys were ridiculously cool. They still are. And Optimus Prime alone is one of the most iconic characters created in the last 30 years.
After looking up characters, I turns out I had a lot more of them then I realized. While they're used to getting shit on, I'll always have a soft spot for the GoBots.
