Do you know what you get when you Google Image the word "tentacle?" Porno. Lots of porno. Even being an afficionado of the stuff, tentacle/demon porn/rape is always a bit off putting. I suppose there's still a chance for a sliver of my soul.
Arrow made its triumphant return a couple weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Well, if they brought Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place back... but that's another column.
I was a big fan of the pre-New 52 Oliver Queen. The one that looked like Robin Hood with the mustache and goatee. The New 52 character does nothing for me. Stephen Amell's Ollie in Arrow however is the opposite. So far he's the only version of the character that's not the Errol Flynn version that I will accept. From only knowing Amell in HBO's short-lived series Hung (where he played a gigolo), he really won me over as the Emerald Archer. Of course he has a strong cast to play against as well. And goddamn did they hot-up Felicity Smoak this season!
So congratulations Stephen Amell, I believe you've joined my personal ranks of Favorite Comic Book Characters Brought to Life. That list also includes Christopher Reeve and Kevin Conroy, so that's esteemed company.
