Green Lantern #23
Robert Venditti has made the transition from Geoff Johns an easy one. I love his new Green Lantern.
Hal is still adjusting to running the Corps now that the old Guardians are dead, and he's having a rough time. There's a lot going on that Hal's having trouble getting a handle on, so Hal does what Hal does. He goes off to chase an escaped prisoner because its something he can resolve easily... or so he thinks.
Billy Tan's art is real hit or miss. Its never bad, but its never great either. What's funny is he's great at drawing aliens, but Hal is always awkwardly misshapen. Go figure.
Still a really enjoyable book. That's a huge relief coming from a guy with a GL tattoo.
Panel of the Week:
A major highlight of this book is Venditti's Kilowog, taken straight from The Animated Series. You can hear Kevin Michael Richardson's voice in those balloons.
