Let's Be Honest With Ourselves

The Dark Knight Rises wasn't the movie that I had hoped it would be. Batman wasn't in it a whole lot, Bane's voice was kind of silly and John Blake's name should have been Tim Drake. For a trilogy rooted so deeply in realism there were giant gaps in logic. And we all knew who Miranda Tate was from the second she appeared on screen.

That said, there are some good things about the flick. Anne Hathaway is the best Selnia Kyle that we've seen. In the few moments the Batman is on the screen he is electric. The dialogue while over the top at points is very memorable. I saw this movie a second time in IMAX and going in with much lower expectations had a lot of fun watching it. It's not the film we deserved but it's the one Nolan made. -$
