Disconnect

The Mc$oss review of The Dark Knight Rises wasn't positive. Contrary to most reviews that hailed it as a masterpiece, we kind of hated it. We have our reasons, but that's another story.

The most blatant sore spot is the voice they chose for Bane. In short, it was fucking terrible. If there was any threat to Bane at all, it was lost when he spoke. Sometimes he sounded like Sean Connery and other times he sounded like, well ... Skeletor. That's not a knock on Alan Oppenheimer whose voice was great for an 80s kids' cartoon. But for a "serious" movie villain it was pretty ridiculous.

Regardless, the Christopher Nolan movies will go down as one of the greatest trilogies of all time. And I can get behind that statement. But much like every other trilogy, they dropped the ball on number three.

  1. I agree. His voice was laughable. Everyone I saw it with agreed. It just didn't need to sound that stupid at all.

  2. It was ridiculous. What shocks me is that a lot of people LIKED it. But then again I always thought Sean Connery should have played Darth Vader.
