At some point, if Friday the 13th is going to be remade again, they're going to have to do something about that goalie mask. I'm not saying they should, just that they may have to. How many times can Jason Voorhees find a 1970s-style goalie mask laying around if we're remaking the franchise in 2030? Most of the target demographic NOW doesn't know goalie's used to wear those things. I'm not an ardent Friday the 13th fan, but I'll definitely be sad to see it go if it ever gets to that point.
As far as Michael Myers goes, I took some heat for calling the original Halloween overrated. I stand by my statement. BUT, I will admit Michael Myers mask is one of the scariest masks in horror. Referencing it and drawing it for the next couple comics was somewhat unsettling.

Over-rated? is a movie that they still rip off over rated? After watching many 80's horror movies this October, many i found on youtube i can say without a doubt, Carpenters Halloween is a step above most.
ReplyDeleteI really think if there wasn't a sequel to it starring Michael myers it would be even more iconic.
As for Friday i believe they are setting the movie in the 80's and if not i guess he could just steal one from a collector.
Man, have I gotten beat up over this unpopular opinion over the last week. There's a lot of bad horror movies out there. Halloween is not one of them. It's definitely a classic, but personally, its not the be-all end-all.
