I’ve always thought that Elektra was a pretty cool character. She has been a standout background character in Daredevil and more recently Thunderbolts. I wanted to give this book a chance to see if she could carry her own monthly title.
W. Haden Blackman handles the writing duties while Michael Del Mundo brings the heat with the art. It’s a beautifully painted work. The composition and energy that Del Mundo lays down on the page is breathtaking.
The story... not so much. Elektra is tasked to go after an assassin that is assassinating assassins. It felt very tired and clichéd to me.
Since the first two arcs of this story are available on Marvel Unlimited, I’ll probably finish them, but once you get past the excellent art, the story isn't much to write home about in this first issue. -Soss
