Since Marvel recently announced its plans for a Black Panther film I felt that I should go back and read up on the character. Reginald Hudlin and John Romita Jr.'s 2005 run on the character seemed like as good a place to start as any.
This first issue spends a lot of time on the history of Wakanda and the Black Panther mythos. It was fun to see an early version of Blank Panther and I like the idea that this is a legacy character. I guess I'll have to keep reading to get into the modern day version.
John Romita Jr.'s work is as good as ever. While some of his recent work appears rushed, this is an example of some of his best stuff.
This was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of the series, -Soss
