Mediocrity Loves Company
Don't worry. I don't know who half of those dudes in the comic strip are either. But since I had to research them to draw them, they are (clockwise from bottom left): Marvel's Sentry, Image Comics' Supreme, Vertigo/DC's Apollo and Image Comics' Omni-Man.
Shazam is clearly the one who gets the most shaft since his comic actually outsold the Man of Steel for a time in the 1940s. Those days are long gone as tons of creators have tried time and time again to distinguish Shazam (or Captain Marvel as he's been known) from Superman to have them comfortably fit in the same universe. Top tier creators Geoff Johns and Gary Frank have recently rebooted Shazam in the New 52 and its easily my favorite version of the character. Johns' even put his own twist on it making him part of a foster family so that 7 different racially and sexually diverse characters get the powers of Shazam.
Regardless of how many dopplegangers he has out in the comic universe, love him or hate him (or just don't care [Soss]) there's only one Superman.
Happy 75th Birthday this year Supes! And also a happy birthday this July 12th to McSoss' own Soss! One year closer to death, my friend!
