Gint's 7-3-13 Pull-List Review

The Pull-List shot its load last week with 11 books. This week it's spent and all we get is Green Lantern. So...

First (and only) Place:
Green Lantern #22

Robert Venditti and Billy Tan's second issue on the title flows seamlessly from the first.

With quite a handful of characters to give "screentime" to, Venditti does it deftly. Aside from the Green Lantern: The Animated Series version of Kilowog, I think I can safely say Venditti's is my second favorite. He writes the character like I always imagined he should be written. And he's a great sidekick to Hal, so its only natural we see him in this book. Most other writers have always glossed over Kilowog which is a shame because he's such a strong member of the Corps.

Tan's art is strong. Nothing amazing, but nothing mind-blowingly awful either. He's got a couple really nice panels that show the breadth of the world we're working in here.

If the Pull-List is only going to give me one book a week, at least I'm glad its Green Lantern.

Panel of the Week:

Tan does a great job adding some lightheartedness by showing this new Corps' recruit using a construct of himself, only all beefcaked up.
