Soss' Pull-List Reviews 3/21/13

Those of you who have been tuning into the new McSoss Comic Book Podcast are now familiar with our buddy Image Matt. We bust on him a lot about his lack of artistic output but make no bones about it, he is a talented artist all the same. Episode 2 featured some talk about how the there of us (WE3 anyone?) create our artwork and since McSoss fans are familiar with myself and Gint's styles we thought it would be cool to introduce you to Matt's artwork.

As we discussed Matt has been influenced by Bruce Timm and Todd McFarlane. You get that vibe instantly from his recreation of Amazing Fantasy #15. We hope to feature more of Matt's work in the future.

And now on to my review:

Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan #4
Now that this book has come to a close I can officially say I'm disappointed. JMS is one of my all-time favorites but this time travel heavy story was very confusing. His work on the Nite Owl book was straight forward and much more enjoyable.

Adam Hughes was the biggest let down for me. It's been years since we have seen him do interior pencils on a book and I thought he would go all out. While his covers were worth the price of admission his interior pencils were hit and miss.

I did love that half way thru the book the reader is forced to fill the pages upside down so you can read things from Ozymandias' perspective. -Soss

Panel of the Week: Even when Laurie is crying and pointing a gun at me I still think she is sexy!
