Life Ain't Worth Livin'
I didn't start reading monthly comics on my own until 2000-ish. In 2004, writer Geoff Johns rebooted the entire Hal Jordan Green Lantern mythology. Since his first story, Green Lantern: Rebirth, it has been without question, my favorite book, and Johns has become my favorite writer.
As a fan of both I've had it really good. Its not often you get a writer who can commit to a book for almost a decade all the while writing great stories. Well that all comes to an end in May (my birthmonth, fitting) with Green Lantern #20, Johns last issue.
We had a great run. This is going to change my comic-reading landscape drastically. There's a chance I may not leave the house for a couple days. I'll certainly wear a black arm band. But I've collected all the hardbacks to keep me warm on those cold, Johns-less summer nights.
Thanks for the memories, buddy. You'll be missed. But if I find myself on the wrong end of a fleshlight, that's on you, pal.
