I never understood the hate that fanboys piled on Constantine. I guess it's fun for people to blast Keanu Reeves for his stiff acting but even to this day I think this flick was a fun ride and a good representation of the Vertigo classic.
Maybe it's because I think the original John Constantine from the comics was kind of stupid. I love Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon but the HellBlazer books from the early 90's are hard to get through.
Then there is how this dude is drawn. The whole point of the character's original look was to model him after Sting. An odd choice a working-class magician. Even today as DC ships Constantine over to their main universe there is a part of me that wishes he didn't look like he was about to start singing " Message in a Bottle". -Soss
