Well... this one is disturbingly straightforward. If I had to pick the movies that contained, personally, some of the most terrifying imagery, it would be The Grudge and The Ring. I know The Grudge didn't do all that well critically, but if its job was to keep me up at night and keep me looking over my shoulder, then mission accomplished. I don't think their intent was to stand me at attention. That was just icing on the creepy cake.
