It seems like since Miles Morales (the black Spider-Man) was introduced, Marvel and DC have been making headlines by trotting out their minority characters. Its great to see these large companies spearheading the themes of inclusion and diversity, but it feels like its becoming more about the headline-grab than the actual characters or the inclusion and diversity. It'll be nice when the comic book community and society as a larger whole can get to a point where there are tons of minority characters and the companies that own them are like, "What? Oh, yeah, we've got tons of gay characters. No big deal."
Tell Brian the gays would love to have him. Hard.
