Much like He-Man's desire to penetrate Attak Traks, the actual nature and tone of Superman III wasn't brought to light until $oss and I were adults and decided to have a Supe-A-Thon. We sat down to watch all four Christopher Reeve Superman movies and were appalled to see the movie we thought was pretty good was actually a vehicle for the at-the-time popular Richard Pryor.
Superman III isn't without merit. Some of the Smallville stuff is very cool and crazy unshaven Superman is pretty creepy. But ultimately, this isn't Superman's movie.

I'd like to see you market this movie with its new title: Richard Pryor's Comedyfest 1983. It'd be interesting to see the reaction it gets.
