04-17-11 Over Saturation

I've always enjoyed stories about zombies. Classic horror films like Night of the Living Dead & Dawn of the Dead were filmed here in Pittsburgh. There is a Zombie Walk each year at the mall 2 minutes from my house for crying out loud! I have a soft spot for those lovable brain eaters.

To my delight AMC's The Walking Dead was a run away success. Robert Kirkman's tale of the zombie apocalypse has long been a favorite of mine and to see it brought to life (or un-life) was a big positive for the comic book community.

Unfortunately this led to an influx of writers scrambling to shoehorn some kind of zombie angle into their shows. For better or worse it appears that the undead will be wandering around prime time for the time being.
