When DC announced their redesigns of a lot of their characters, I thought the underwear-on-the-inside thing was silly looking. But apparently, that's just familiarity talking. The more I've looked at this new Superman design, the more it doesn't bother me that he's not wearing the old strong-man outfit. As far as costume updates go, this one might not be so bad.
Now, if you really want to update the characters, stop having George Perez draw them. I know Perez is a comic book legend. But his style SCREAMS 1980s. You can't expect new readers to pick up a new, refreshed, modern comic when the art looks like its from 30 years ago.

When I wear my superhero costume, I will ALWAYS wear my underwear on the outside. Else, how will anyone know? It's just such a powerful identifier of a do-gooder or do-bad...der?
ReplyDeleteThat was a hard step to take, admitting I am a superhero.
You are most certainly shady if your underwear are on the inside. A grown man with his underwear outside his jeans is certainly trustworthy.
