Soss' Pull-List Reviews 12/20/2013

Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #4
While Darwyn Cooke's story is much more light and fluffy then the rest of the Watchmen universe I still think it fits in nicely. Laurie continues to wrestle with her feelings towards her mother and slowly begins to bend to her will. Hollis Mason, the original Nite Owl also plays to large role in leading Laurie down the path to becoming a crime fighter.

God damn do I love me some Amanda Connor artwork. I picked up her hardcover art book recently and it was well worth every penny.

Batman #15
Greg Capullo knows how to do creepy! I'm not a huge fan of the new Leather face Joker mainly because only one artist seems to have perfected it. When Capullo draws him it's very clear that the face is a mask, never quite on center and always sliding around. It's such a disturbing image that when you see others try and pull this off it appears flat and dull. I'm not knocking the other Bat artist's, just mad props too Mr. Capullo.

Batman spends the majority of the issue trying to convince the Bat-family that the Joker doesn't really know all of their identities and that it's just an elaborate joke. I'm not sure how Scott Snyder is going to play this one but I'd be ok if The Joker actually did know that Batman was Bruce Wayne. He is not a typical villain that would run out into the streets telling everyone Wayne's secret. It might add an interesting dynamic to the two moral enemies relationship.-Soss

Panel of the Week: I don't think there is any debating that this is the best panel of the week.
